Response

We believe that the businesses of the present and future need to reduce their environmental impact, improve the working conditions of those who make them work, and ultimately, look for models that allow them to take root in the community in order to stop just receiving and start giving too; they need to weave links, they need to inspire.

Which is the response?

The Mallorcan economic model of the last decades has generated great economic benefits, but today we can no longer argue that it is giving us back worse working conditions, difficulties in order to access housing, abandonment of agriculture and other productive sectors, and an indisputable environmental deterioration both on land and sea.

What do we want to give back to present and future generations? At Tot Torna, we are convinced that companies and third sector initiatives have a key role to play in structuring the life and social relations of a territory, as well as improving its environment. In this way, we are generating a double return that aims to create a symbiosis between companies and civil society. On the one hand, Tot Torna promotes business models and economic practices that are kinder to people and the environment. On the other hand, the contributions made by these companies are reinvested in environmental, social and cultural initiatives that allow us to have stronger communities, more rooted people, and a more diverse, livelier and more resilient territory.

Environmental response

Reducing the volume of waste generated, reducing energy and water consumption, or reducing the footprint associated with the transport of products are some of the practices that demonstrate greater environmental responsibility.

They thus contribute to a reduction of the ecological impact, which will be complemented by the environmental projects of the initiatives, such as the regeneration of threatened ecosystems, their protection, the increase of biodiversity, and awareness-raising among all ages.

Sociocultural response

Businesses can help us to provide a better work-life balance for working people, reducing anxiety, stress, or the feeling of having to run all the time. Like social entities, businesses also help to establish links within the community.

However, it will be above all social initiatives that will enhance traditional knowledge, social integration, and enable us to move towards a society that puts life at the centre.

Tot Torna

Economic response

Making companies understand the importance of creating links and weaving networks with civil society and the territory where they operate is key to promoting alternative models where people and the environment prevail over capital. In this way, we will achieve greater equity, more respectful trade and consumption and the creation of jobs that respect labour rights.

From there, third sector initiatives will be able to receive funding to continue developing their work. We want to increase the number of actions and reduce the hours in justifications!
